Take Me With You
Take Me With You
Take Me With You
by Lisa Molina
An Ekphrastic poem based on the painting “Wheatfield with Crows,” by Vincent Van Gogh, Netherlands, 1890
Oh,
flying/floating/flock
of crows
disappearing over
the Rumpelstiltskin
gold I see before me;
Are you real?
Why can you not
come down to earth
to take this
mind of visions
which I never know
to be real or imagined,
and carry it on your wings
so that I may rise
above this life
of dirt roads
leading me to
nowhere but madness?
I yearn to
fly/floating/forever
above this
wearying/waning/world/within
up to the
swirling/spinning/
golden/glowing/
starry night,
my spirit absorbed
by the silver
glowing orb.
